Cryogenic Deformation Behavior and Microstructural Characteristics of 2195 Alloy

Cryogenic deformation can improve the strength and plasticity of Al–Li alloy, although underlying mechanism is still not yet well understood. The effects cryogenic temperature on tensile properties microstructure an Al–Cu–Li alloy were investigated by means property test, roughness measurement, scanning electron microscope (SEM), optical (OM), backscatter diffraction (EBSD), transmission (TEM). results indicated that elongation as-annealed (O-state) solution-treated (W-state) alloys increased with decrease in temperature, where increasing trend W-state was more significant than O-state alloy. In addition, a range observed at approximately 178 K caused to slightly decrease. inhibited dynamic recovery which dislocation density degree work hardening, thus improving At temperatures, internal grain structure involved overall uniform, have higher plasticity.
